South China Sea in a southeast Asia region is a disputed area since long time. Multiple counties in this region claim their hereditary right in this region. China also a a one among them. Strongly claiming it’s right, start many illegal activities there like construction of island, military deployment etc. South China Sea is a highly mineral riched area.
Philippines one such country involve in this dispute.India and Philippines are maritime partners enjoying 75 years of diplomatic relation. By strong Cooperation, both can counter China in this region. This dispute can solve only via dialogue. India Philippines partnership can play a major in this. Quiet diplomacy can be a instrument to resolve this issue.

The heavy rains in North India has led to severe impact on the socio-economic fabric of many affected states due to incessant rainfall, flooding, damage to infrastructure. The impact of such extreme weather events on the socio-economic fabric of the region are-
1. Loss of habitation – due to flooding many residents have to evacuate their homes and move to other places leading to loss of habitation .Even animals suffer to flooding
2. Diseases – Flooding from river leads to spread of communicable diseases amongst humans and animals. This deteriorates the living condition ,sanitation, availability of safe water etc.
3. Food and water scarcity – Fields are flooded leading to loss of harvest and crops. Dirty water from floods lead to shortage of drinking water
4.Infrastructural Damage – Damage to roads, stoppage of transportation, lack of electricity and communication system impacts the day to day lives of people and also hamper the industrial work in the area leading to both commercial and personal loses.
5. Financial burden – Repairing of the entire system increases the financial burden on the government as well as the citizens

Steps to curb and mitigate these extreme impacts-

1.Improving the drainage in the cities- proper drainage system, rain water harvesting system ,storage system ,proper embankments to curb the flow needs to be developed to drain away the water easily
2.Cleaning of the rivers and their maintenance – Garbage sewage from the rivers need to be removed at periodic intervals, maintenance of rivers are required
3. Shifting people from flood prone areas- rehabilitation of people from the flood prone areas to safer areas

4.Safety measures based on weather forecasting
