Questions
1) What are the directions issued by the center regarding the ban on single-use plastic? Why is single-use plastic being banned in India?
2) In the light of the present circumstances, the government should re-establish its role as the principal employment generator. Elaborate.

Do include the point, that India has a large working age population, >10 million workers are added into the workforce every year. Manufacturing/Services haven’t created enough opportunities and are limited only to skilled workers. In this context, the Government has to step in.
Although, the question is more from perspective of supporting the statement, do highlight the fact that Government as principal job provider limits capital expenditure, so Govt. must undertake suitable reforms to act as enabler (like boosting manufacturing sector esp. MSMEs.)
Other aspects, the answer seems fine 🙂
