Questions
1) Many state governments are switching back to Old Pension Scheme (OPS). Do you think that OPS is bad for economics? Give reasons in support of your argument.
2) Rethinking cities to make them more liveable, inclusive, and integrated is a key component in promoting smart cities. Elaborate.

You can add many more points under shortcomings of OPS e.g., issue of inter-generational equity (present generation providing for older generation).
Also Govt. employees make-up very short proportion of total population, Government can’t spend so much on welfare of this limited section.
NPS is a much better option. Rather Govt. should try to provide social security cover to those old persons who worked in informal sector.
Thank you
Good answer! Also highlight the aspect of inter-generational equity, OPS is unsustainable in the long run. It also raises equity issues, as a limited number of Govt. workers corner majority of Govt. welfare spending.
Other aspects seem good!
Wrote it as a 15 marks answer.
Good answer! After introduction, mention challenges of Indian cities in 1-2 lines.
Sometime when there are specific keywords in the question, you can frame the answers accordingly e.g., the question statement says liveable, inclusive, and integrated so classify the points accordingly like housing under inclusive, green areas/parks under liveable and integrated mobility (multi-modal like public transport, Metro, RTS and last-mile connectivity) etc.
Okay, Thank you, I will keep that in mind.
Also highlight other issues with OPS like inter-generational equity and small section of workers cornering majority of the welfare spending.
Kindly put the mains questions on the telegram channel like earlier. I am unable to access them otherwise!
