News: Six “shramik special” trains departed from Kerala, Telangana, Maharashtra and Rajasthan.

Facts:

  • Sramik Special trains have been launched by the Ministry of Railways for stranded migrants amidst Coronovaris lockdown.
  • Each “shramik” train carries between 1,000 and 1,200 people to ensure social distancing during travel. 
  • All passengers are screened for coronavirus symptoms prior to boarding; only asymptomatic people are allowed to travel.
