News: Subroto Cup International Football Tournament 2026 commenced at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi.
About Subroto Cup International Football Tournament
- It is a prestigious inter-school football tournament.
- Conducted by: It is conducted by the Air Force Sports Control Board.
- Frequency of conduct: It is held annually in New Delhi.
- Named after: It is named after the first Indian Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee.
- First Edition: The first edition was conducted in 1960.
- It is a unique tournament where in the champion school teams from all states and foreign countries participate in this tournament.
- Categories: It has following categories: Sub-Junior Boys (Under-15), Junior Boys (Under-17), and Junior Girls (Under-17).
- How It is conducted: Preliminary inter-school tournaments are organized in every state & union territory starting from Sub-division, district and division level culminating in the inter-school finals at the state level.
- The school teams, winning the state inter-school championships are then invited to participate in the main Tournament.
- It is played on league cum knock out basis and is played in accordance with laws of the game as framed by FIFA as adopted by AIFF & SSCB.
