News: Prime Minister launched the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan alongside the eighth edition of Poshan Maah on September 17, 2025, marking Indias largest women-and-child health mobilisation.

About Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan

  • It is a campaign focused on preventive, promotive, and curative services for women, adolescent girls, and children.
  • Initiative by: Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD).
  • It is a Jan Bhagidari effort. Private hospitals and stakeholders are encouraged to participate.
  • The campaign aligns with the vision of a developed India by 2047.
  • The campaign runs from September 17 to October 2, 2025.
  • It builds on nationwide drives such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and leverages Anganwadis for sustained outreach in maternal and child health.
  • It converges with Mission Shakti and Poshan 2.0.
    • It addresses gaps flagged in national health surveys on maternal and child health.
  • Key features
    • Over one lakh health camps nationwide.
    • Screening for NCDs, cancers, anaemia, TB, SCD, and maternal health.
    • Provide nutrition counselling, menstrual hygiene promotion, and sessions on lifestyle and mental health.
    • Specialist services in gynaecology, paediatrics, dermatology, ophthalmology, psychiatry, and dentistry. Services are offered through medical colleges, district hospitals, AIIMS, ESIC, CGHS, and private hospitals.
    • Immunisation drives, antenatal care, TB and SCD screening, blood donation camps, and AYUSH-based wellness activities such as yoga.
    • Convergence with ministries of rural development, education, youth affairs, tribal affairs, social justice, defence, railways, Ayush, and others.
