A panel representing India’s science academies will launch SWATI portal that aims to include each and every woman in science in the country.

Features | 1) It contains a comprehensive database profiling Indian women across science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEMM) fields. 2) It has a separate section highlighting women scientists working in academia (universities, research institutes), industry, as entrepreneurs, and other career. 3) It includes profiles of iconic women scientists from India who are recipient of prestigious honors like the Padma awards, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar awards, or Stree Shakti Science Samman. |
Significance | 1) It will address gender gap challenges in STEMM community. 2) It will motivate and encourage more young women and girls to pursue education and careers in scientific fields 3) It will enable valuable research on gender equality, diversity and inclusion over the long term. |
