Why in the news?
A panel representing India’s science academies will launch SWATI portal that aims to include each and every woman in science in the country.
About ‘SWATI’ (Science for Women-A Technology & Innovation) Portal

| Features | 1) It contains a comprehensive database profiling Indian women across science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEMM) fields. 2) It has a separate section highlighting women scientists working in academia (universities, research institutes), industry, as entrepreneurs, and other career. 3) It includes profiles of iconic women scientists from India who are recipient of prestigious honors like the Padma awards, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar awards, or Stree Shakti Science Samman. |
