About URL
- A uniform resource locator, or URL, is a short string containing an address which refers to an object in the “web.” URLs are a subset of URIs.
- It is a web resource that specifies its location on a computer network and a mechanism for retrieving it.
- Just as buildings and houses have a street address, webpages also have unique addresses to help people locate them. On the Internet, these addresses are called URLs (Uniform Resource Locators).
