The Pakistan government has ordered illegal migrants to leave the country. This has impacted thousands of Afghan refugees.

Why is Pakistan forcing lakhs of Afghan refugees to leave?

1.Terror Attacks- Pakistan has claimed that the presence of illegal migrants has led to rising crime and terror attacks.

2.Economic Slowdown- Pakistan is facing hyperinflation, a balance of payment crisis and high rupee depreciation.The undocumented migrants who pay no taxes are a burden on the already limited resources.

What is the Durand Line?

The Durand Line is the 2,640-kilometer (1,640-mile) border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. 

It is the result of an agreement between Sir Mortimer Durand, a secretary of the British Indian government, and Abdur Rahman Khan, the emir, or ruler, of Afghanistan. 

The agreement was signed in 1893 in Kabul, Afghanistan.

​​McMahon Line: It serves as the de facto boundary between China and India in the Eastern Sector. It specifically represents the boundary between Arunachal Pradesh and Tibet, from Bhutan in the west to Myanmar in the east.

– China has historically disputed the boundary and claims the state of Arunachal Pradesh as part of the Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR).

Radcliffe Line: It refers to the boundary line demarcated by British lawyer Sir Cyril Radcliffe during the partition of British India in 1947.This line divided the provinces of Punjab and Bengal into two separate territories: India and Pakistan.
