  1. On April 11,World Parkinson’s Day has been celebrated to create awareness about the long-term degenerative disorder.It also marks the birthday of James Parkinson,a physician who described the disease.
  2. Parkinson’s is a neurodegenerative disease. Parkinson’s disease affects the nerve cells in the brain that produce dopamine.
  3. It leads to progressive loss of controlled muscle activity,which leads to trembling of the limbs and head while at rest,stiffness,slowness and impaired balance are some of the characteristics of the disease.
