- On April 11,World Parkinson’s Day has been celebrated to create awareness about the long-term degenerative disorder.It also marks the birthday of James Parkinson,a physician who described the disease.
- Parkinson’s is a neurodegenerative disease. Parkinson’s disease affects the nerve cells in the brain that produce dopamine.
- It leads to progressive loss of controlled muscle activity,which leads to trembling of the limbs and head while at rest,stiffness,slowness and impaired balance are some of the characteristics of the disease.
