  • The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum is a globally recognized multi-stakeholder platform focused on advancing digital development and fostering inclusive information societies.
  • It brings together key stakeholders, including governments, industry, academia, civil society, and international organisations, to collaborate on critical digital issues.
  • WSIS Prize: It celebrates innovative ICT-driven projects that contribute to sustainable development worldwide. 
  • About WSIS Forum 2026:
    • The WSIS Forum 2026 is scheduled to take place from 6–10 July 2026 in Geneva.
    • Organized by: The event is co-organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in collaboration with UNESCO, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
    • Participation: It will have participation of more than 50 United Nations entities.
    • Features:
      • It features discussions on emerging technologies, digital inclusion, cybersecurity, and global digital cooperation.
      • It serves as a platform for showcasing innovative solutions that support sustainable development objectives and for developing roadmaps that guide global cooperation on digital policy and inclusion.
    • India’s recognition: Samriddh Gram: Integrated Phygital Service Delivery Model has been selected as a nominee for the WSIS (World Summit on the Information Society) Prizes 2026 under the Action Line AL C6: Enabling Environment category.
