Dear Forumites,

Here’s the 46th Edition of the EPIC Magazine!

The Focus Article of EPIC February 2024 covers the salient features of the Interim Union Budget 2024-25. The Interim Budget is presented in the election year as the Government has only limited duration before the General Elections kick in. Hence, the Interim Budget usually avoids announcements of policy measures that have far-reaching consequences. The full budget will be presented by the new elected Government in July 2024. Despite the elections, the Interim Budget has been hailed by several economists for avoiding populist measures and sticking to the path of fiscal consolidation. Nevertheless, several measures have been covered that set the agenda for the journey of the next 2 decades. We have covered the salient features, positives and concerns associated with the Interim Budget 2024-25.

Other key articles covered in EPIC February 2024 include Women in STEMM Fields, Evolution of Women’s Rights in India, Supreme Court’s Judgment on the Electoral Bond Scheme, the Debate on the Uniform Civil Code (with Uttarakhand’s UCC), Jal Jeevan Mission, Expansion of India’s Diplomatic Footprint, Fiscal Relationship between the Union and State Governments, Issues with India’s Public Finance, Deep-tech Start-up Ecosystem and Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) among others.
