Why in the news?
Recently, The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal stated that the development of the drone ecosystem and the deployment of drones in villages across the nation align with ‘NAMO Drone Didi’ initiative, which aims to empower women in the agriculture sector.
About NAMO Drone Didi scheme

Enhance Productivity: Use drones for precision farming, nutrient application, and crop monitoring. 3. Promote Technology: Integrate drone technology into everyday agricultural practices. 4. Create Jobs: Generate employment for rural women as drone pilots, mechanics, and in drone manufacturing. 5. Support Self-Reliance: Reduce dependence on imported fertilizers and support the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative. |
