Dear Friends,

Exactly 36 hours ago we assembled in different cities of the country ( and some of us in front of a computer screen or a mobile screen ) to appear for SFG entrance test #1.

We are happy to announce the results of the entrance test.

Read why we do SFG at 7AM by clicking here

Before you go ahead and look for your name in this quarter-holy PDF ( holy PDF is the name reserved for the final list released by the Commission ) , here are few things we want you to know.

First, people who have found their names in this list have gone ahead and secured Rank 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 10 in Top 10 in Civil services Examination. And all these people were those who did not clear prelims in their previous attempt and then did SFG with all the rigour, wrote their first mains and gave us a rank in the same year. We expect at least 300 people from SFG in the final list ( no pressure ). This will happen if you follow the program with the commitment that is actually needed to succeed in the Civil Services examination.

Second,  since ForumIAS arose from a community, helping people who have not achieved their goal with respect to this exam before is at the core of our DNA. This includes having students as varied as Anudeep D (click here ) , who was able to get in the list, but not get a service of his choice, join ForumIAS and get Rank 1, to Natasha Goyal ( watch video ) who did not clear Prelims in first 4 attempts to clearing all the 3 stages in her fifth attempt and join Indian Police Service. if Prelims has been your problem, this is all that you need to so ( apart from Simulator FLTs) to clear this exam. But doing does not simply means writing tests mindlessly. They have to be backed by at least 6 hours and upto 10-11 hours of studies – depending on your current level of preparation and the amount of time *you* take to study something. This time is different for each of us.

Third, People not clear the prelims for several reasons ranging from lack of preparation ( but they dont know they lack preparation and think it is luck ), to faulty baseline ( they are in a group/coaching with bogus crowd where no one studies, and they think they are mad geniuses when they study for a few hours a day ), to lack of adequate time to prelims ( such as NOT giving 4-5 month exclusively to prelims ) , to lack of interest in studying Prelims ( reflected in doing PSIR till April and not feeling guilty – because well – they are studying something ), to lack of discipline ( the ability to do the same thing everyday without fail and against mood swings ), to lack of writing good tests ( such as taking too many coaching papers, and doing them half , and those half are substandard ), to simply having  a casual approach towards the exam. Identify what is your problem and fix it this time and this year. There will be not better time, no better year and no better program to do this.

Four, when you take up SFG – both your and our goal has to be clear – and that is clear Prelims with Forest Cut off. So that next 15 days after prelims, we are not wasting time waiting for result instead of getting started with Mains. The program will ensure enough practice, test taking and knowledge base  building ( along with FLTs) that is enough to clear DEMOLISH the prelims. What is one of the key challenges that you will face is that the journey tends to be stressful before it becomes enjoyable. Don’t crumble under pressure, and just survive. If you manage to survive, you will thrive and excel. Remember what henry Kissinger said – Diamond is just a piece of coal that handled pressure very well.

Fifth, When pressure shall dawn on you, you will develop distractions. Our minds are designed more to worry than to work. Distractions such as

“I cannot do this.”

“this isn’t useful.”

“this isn’t sufficient”

“I want to study at my own pace”

“Kuchh aur karna hoga”

Remember, distractions are the new Natural selection at work. “Log kya kahenge” Distraction kills more dreams than competition. And our minds will continuously try to avoid the energy consuming hard work and convince you that something lightweight is the key to success. It is not. Which is why in the end – after the hard work is done – it is the resilience of your mind that will be needed to crack this exam.

You can view your results / names and roll numbers in the PDF below.

As we said, at least 300 selections from this PDF in the final list.

No pressure.

May the force be with you!

NOTE : Iterating the rules of SFG before you go ahead

  1. Students who appeared in offline mode have been allocated into three groups SFG / RLG / Not Selected.  There is a marginal difference of fee, and no other real difference.
  2. Students who appeared in online mode, have been put in two groups : RLG / Not Selected.
  3. Not Selected Candidates may try for the second entrance test, but they will probably need to sit with a mentor and figure out their 1 year study path. The exam requires more preparation than current levels.
  4. Students must pay fee as per their group. Anyone trying to shortchange the process such as selected in RLG but paying SFG fees or not written the entrance and paying the fees – his fees will be forfeited.
  5. No matter how you appeared for the entrance, you have the choice of doing the program in either online mode or offline mode. Choose accordingly.
  6. SFG is a subscription based program – where you cannot pay fee for both months even if you want to. This also means that for any reason if you are not in the second month ( not wanting, not resubscribing or simply not selected for month 2) , you will lose access to the whole course.
  7. We always overestimate what we can achieve in 1 day and under estimate what we can achieve in 3 months.

Warning! Students who make payment without being selected, their payment will be forfeited without any refunds. Also RLG students who make SFG payments, their payment will also be forfeited. You must make payments as per your category. You will not be allowed to write tests if you do so, and you will have to make fresh payments as per category for the same. The last date of payment is 5 PM, Thursday, 5th Dec. 2024

Please note that there is no SFG list in online mode. Students who take test in online mode will be part of RLG only. Also, for those students who are writing tests in online mode in all honesty, they can benchmark their actual performance from the offline score and ranklist regularly, and ought not be intimidated by the unusually impressive marks of online test takers.

P.S. If you think you deserved better and there has been an error on our part, you can write to us at

Wish you lots of hard work. And Success at the end of it.
