News: Recently, nine workers and engineers working on the bridge across the Mir Alam Tank were rescued by HYDRAA after their boat malfunctioned.

About Mir Alam lake
- Location– It is a freshwater tank located in Hyderabad, Telangana, situated on the southern side of the Musi River.
- Source of water: The tank is fed by streams and natural springs originating from the nearby hill ranges.
- Historical importance: It served as the primary source of drinking water for Hyderabad before the construction of Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar reservoirs between 1913 and 1925.
- Eponym: The tank is named after Mir Alam Bahadur, who served as the Prime Minister of Hyderabad during the reign of Asaf Jah III, the third Nizam of Hyderabad.
- Associated Personality: The planning of the tank is associated with Michel Joachim Marie Raymond, a French military officer closely linked with Hyderabad’s history.
