News: National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) has recently launched “e-CHARAK” mobile application designed to facilitate trade and information exchange in the medicinal plants sector.
About “e-CHARAK” mobile application

- e-CHARAK is a mobile application and web portal for the promotion and marketing of medicinal plants/herbs.
- Objective: It is to provide a platform for the trade of medicinal plants & easy market access.
- Launched by: It has been jointly developed by the National Medicinal Plants
Board (NMPB), Ministry of Ayush and Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geoinformatics (BISAG-N). - Accessed by: It could be accessed either through an internet browser or the mobile app.
- Features:
- It is a platform to enable information exchange between various stakeholders mainly farmers involved in the medicinal plants sector across the country.
- Users can register on the platform to access its services, including posting items for sale or purchase, and managing their listings.
- It supports different local languages.
- It also provides a fortnightly market price of 100 MPs from 25 herbal markets across India.
- It would create vivid transparent, workable trade linkages among the producers & purchasers.
