- Recently,Scientists have found a rare albino panda on camera at a nature reserve in southwest China.
- While there are about 500 giant pandas in China, there are only a handful of albino species that are found.
- According to national geographic, animals with albinism which lacks melanin or skin pigment are often at greater risk from predators in the wild as they can be spotted more easily and have poorer eyesight.
- The giant panda also known as panda bear or simply panda is a bear native to south-central China. It is easily recognized by the large, distinctive black patches around its eyes, over the ears and across its round body.
- Giant Panda is listed as vulnerable species in the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Red List.
- The giant panda is a folivore (an animal that feeds on leaves) with bamboo shoots and leaves making up more than 99% of its diet. It lives in a few mountain ranges in central China.
