A theory to answer current physical features of earth, proposed by Alferd Wagner. He said that the present day continents(Seven) once formed only one Continent, namely Pangea, surrounded by one ocean Pathalassa in Mesozoic period. During Mid-Mesozoic period, the breaking/drifting of this Pangea happened, to support this theory he gave evidences viz, 1. When continents like Africa and south America are brought together they tend fit the coastline, proving that they could be part of same landmass. 2. Fossil Evidences, proves presence of same animal on 2 different continents at same point of time. 3. Glacial Evidences, found in India shows that once it was part of southern continent, and later drifted from it. 4. Rocks, presence of same types of rocks on 2 different continents proves that once they used to be part of same landmass.
