  1. The Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) has suspended coking coal handling operations at Mormugao Port. The decision has been taken due to deteriorating air quality at the port town of Vasco, Goa.
  2. Mormugao Port is located at the mouth of the Zuari River, in the town of Mormugao, Goa. It has a naturally protected harbour.
A harbor is a body of water sheltered by natural or artificial barriers. A natural harbour is one which is naturally protected and deep enough to provide an anchorage.
  3. The Zuari River is the longest river in Goa. It originates at Hemad-Barshem in the Western Ghats and drains into the Arabian Sea at Mormugao after forming an estuary.
