- The objective of this conference is to support the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14 (SDG 14) which stated as to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
- The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 global goals set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015 for the year 2030.The SDGs are part of Resolution 70/1 of the United Nations General Assembly, the 2030 Agenda.
- Though not legally binding, the SDGs have become de facto international obligations and have the potential to reorient domestic spending priorities of a country during the 15-year-period.
