We are extremely delighted to share with you of there has been one secret weapon of ForumIAS that has helped us ( and our students ) deliver stellar results, it is the AWFG.
The AWFG or the Answer Writing Focus Group is a answer writing focussed initiative by ForumIAS that we started in 2019, which has helped hundreds of students get into the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Foreign Service.
In short, the AWFG is the program you need for you to enhance and enrich your Mains static content to the exam level. It is useful for anone who is writing or expecting to write the Mains examination.
The AWFG provides you the below benefits
- Complete coverage of the static syllabus through questions, discussions and answers.
- Answer Writing Practice in a timed manner
- Specific Arguments and Keywords for the issues from which questions are asked.
This year, keeping in mind the fact that the Mains is becoming more and more competitive, and it is finally answer writing practice in the end which will help us secure Rank 1, or 5 or 44.
How will the AWFG be conducted?
AWFG will be conducted in both Online & Offline Mode. Unlike last year where the AWFG was passive, this year, the AWFG will be conducted in a LIVE active manner, so as to benefit not just offline, but online students.
AWFG would be conducted 3 days a week – Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 7 AM. There will be 7 questions in every test, for which candidates will be given 1 hour to write the Test.
For offline students, there will be Mentor in the classroom which will display the Questions on the whiteboard, with a timer that will run about 7 minutes for a 10 marker, and 11 minutes for a 15 marker. At the end of about an hour, the test will end.
After the Test, the concerned faculty for the subject will be have a post test discussion on writing the answer to all the questions. In case you do not know how to write an answer, or do not have content on it, it will be expected that you will be write the answer after the test discussion at home.
After the Test Discussion, Teacher’s crisp handouts / optimised answers will be provided in the PDF format in your portal.
How will it be conducted in the online mode?
In the online mode, it will be conducted through a LIVE link shared with you through a Zoom or Microsoft Teams call. You will be able to see the whiteboard and the faculty as well as other students. The questions will be displayed on the screen for you, and will change after the passage of time.
This all sounds cool, but what do I do if I don’t know the answer to a questions? Sit and stare at the screen?
We understand that as we begin, there will be questions that you will not know answers to. Here is what we plan to do.
One, you will be provided in advance a list of issues / topics and questions – which you must prepare and come beforehand. Questions will be asked from the list only. The purpose of this list is not to spoon feed you. The purpose is to direct you so that you know which areas to focus on for the upcoming test.
Will there be evaluation of the copies?
As much as we would like to, the model of AWFG would be based on self evaluation. For evaluated copies, we provide the MGP.
How to join the program?
Admissions to the program will be based on an entrance Test to be conducted on 11th June, 11AM. You must register for the entrance in case you want to join the program. Fee for the Entrance Test is Rs. 700
Note:
1.No hard copy of solutions will be provided only solutions in pdf format will be uploaded on students portal.
2. Solutions will be uploaded to the Student portal at 8 AM.
3. AWFG Test discussion will be held at 8 AM. It will be taken by Faculty in Offline Mode. For Online students it will be live for them.

Please note:
- Fees are for the full duration of the program, and not for a month
- Fees once paid are non-refundable and non-transferable in nature
- Candidates who try to pay fee in wrong category will be required to pay the full fee in applicable category, without refund of the original fees paid.
- For Students, who want to write the tests in offline mode, they must get an ID Card. In case students do not have an ID Card, they must get it from the front desk by paying a fee of Rs. 49/-
How is AWG different from MGP?
AWG is an answer writing practice group wherein you practice to write upto 7-8 questions within 45-60 minutes. It is NOT a full-fledged test series and it does NOT replace the MGP – which are 3-hour duration test. While MGP has both evaluation, mentorship and classroom discussions, AWG provides questions paper, a good peer group, crisp solution, with post test discussions It does NOT provide evaluation and / or mentorship.
However, they provide a great framework for covering the syllabus fully and quickly, practice of writing answers and timely completion of syllabus.
It also provides a good framework for paper discussion with friends and peers and we recommend forming groups and for the same.
About the AWG Entrance Test ( Date : June 11, 11AM, Saturday )
- The entrance will be conducted on Saturday at 11AM, June 11. Admissions to the AWG will not take place without writing the entrance test.
- The registration for the entrance Test shall commence from 5PM, June 5, 2022 and will close on 10th June at 5PM. Registration will be done in Online Mode only.
- Entrance Test will be of 1 hour duration , and will test summarising skills, general awareness and writing skills of the candidate. Questions will be open ended, so it will require no separate preparation.
- The results for the Entrance Test shall be provided by 11PM, June 13. Admissions must be completed by June 15th at 8 PM before the commencement of the AWFG Test 1 on June 16th.
- The results for the Entrance Test shall be provided by 3 PM, June 15.
