Dear Friends,

This is to inform you that we are now accepting applications for FRC -5 – the fifth Batch of ForumIAS Residential Coaching.

We started our journey for FRC when we felt that while we were getting brilliant results in the final list, we were somehow moving away from the core value that we started the academy with.

And that was to enable people who are *not* getting through, really get through.

In short we wanted to do things in a manner such that anyone with decent motivation, but the grit and physical and mental capacity to work hard for a few months should be able to clear the examination.

Sometime last year in December, we started FRC – 1. With a bunch of people who had never cleared the prelims before.

And we slogged. And made the people who trusted us slog. Like waking up at 2AM. And studying. Or perhaps sleeping at 2AM, and the again waking up at 6AM to get started

Amongst all things that we did, we realised people learn best when they are placed in a hard working, competitive group.

One of the conventional practices in conventional afforestation was that if you want trees to grow fast and far, you plant them at 6 feet or 10 feet distance – so that there is enough space for each to grow. Until Akira Miyawaki said that planting trees closely – as close as possible leads to faster and better tree growth because trees know that they have to compete with each other in the same limited space.

With FRC we were able to get every 3rd candidate to get selected in the prelims 2024 – despite the surprises thrown in the paper – because of two reasons

  1. They were trained to write paper under stress / duress throughout the FRC program.
  2. They were trained to study for 10-12 hours long before the exam and not in the last 2 month before the exam.

But most importantly, they performed better than the average crowd elsewhere is because with a strong peer group and everyone around studying – they studied better, they studied more. Last but not the least, what we felt was most significant was that there was a mental revolution amongst most students – about the amount of effort that is needed to clear the exam.

When we asked both – candidates who cleared, as well as those who did not clear the prelims – what they felt worked for them – it was that they came to know the amount of effort others are putting to clear with top scores.

To keep the quality of students at above a minimum benchmark, admissions to the program are strictly through an entrance test with both subjective and objective questions. The number of seats for FRC – 5 is 125, out of which 70 seats have been filled as of 12th November 6PM.

We encourage candidates from North east and Southern States to apply as we have 2 seats from every state. An All India character is foundational to FRC program.

The campus for FRC will be located in Ramgarh, Alwar Rajasthan in a gated campus. A bus stand is within walking distance of the campus and private transport of cab / reserved auto / shared auto is available.

The few criteria for selection in SFG FRC is

  1. candidate should have appeared for Prelims 2+ times
  2. candidate should have at least 2 attempts left for CSE
  3. candidate must qualify by way of merit in the FRC entrance test

The most suitable candidate for the program is the candidate who has given 3 or 4  attempts and has tried everything – so that he is fully committed to the program.

The program shall consist of 3 phases

PHASE 1 : Daily Tests at 7AM + 6-8 hours of prelims revision classes ( Dec end till Feb end )
PHASE 2 : Daily Tests at 7AM + Current Affairs Classes on few days of the week + extra classes for mapping etc.
PHASE 3 : Daily Full Length Tests till 15 days before the examination for practice purpose.
