News– 10th Session of the APDIM on Inclusive Governance of Disaster Risk Data convened in New Delhi.

About APDIM

  • Established: 2015 as a regional institution under the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP).
  • Headquarters: Tehran, Iran.
  • Governing Council: Consists of the Government of Iran and eight ESCAP member countries, each elected for a three-year term.
  • Mandate: To support countries in the Asia-Pacific region in strengthening disaster risk reduction (DRR) through improved disaster information and knowledge management.
  • Key Functions:
    • Data and knowledge sharing
    • Risk assessment and analytics
    • Capacity building
    • Strengthening early warning systems
    • Response coordination and post-disaster recovery planning
    • Promoting regional cooperation
