Dear Friends,
We are excited to announce that ForumIAS will be going ahead with the Answer Writing Focus Group – AWFG 2026 for Mains 2026.
AWFG has played a key role in the success stories of hundreds of aspirants, helping many not only crack the Mains in their first attempt but also improve their ranks in subsequent attempts.
While our Mains Guidance Program (MGP) continues to be a flagship offering—delivering a self-study mentor-guided, test series-based preparation program for Civil Services Mains preparation — the AWFG holds a distinct and critical value for aspirants preparing seriously for Mains.
First, while the MGP simulates the actual exam environment with 3-hour tests, AWFG ensures exhaustive syllabus coverage through regular answer writing practice.
Second, MGP offers detailed evaluation and feedback, whereas AWFG provides quick, graded feedback to maintain momentum and foster a competitive atmosphere—often the push needed to stay consistent.
Many students start MGP for Mains 2026 around this time. The year-long MGP offers comprehensive support across the syllabus, but post-Prelims MGP cohorts often lean towards high-yield and dynamic topics. In contrast, AWFG is structured to strengthen your command over static portions—the core of the GS papers.
In addition, AWFG’s thrice-a-week answer writing schedule builds discipline and consistency, which are key to cracking the Mains exam with confidence.
How can I join the AWFG?
Enrolment into the AWFG, like the SFG, will have to be earned by you!
So admissions to the group will be through a merit principle based on an open test for all, including selected candidates.
The AWFG Entrance Test will be held on 29th May (Please note: revised date), 1st June 2026 at 9 AM, and the answer sheet will have to be submitted in the offline mode after 1 hour (immediately after the test), and in the online mode by 4 PM of the same day.
Will the Program be available both online and offline?
Like the preceding years, the AWFG will be available in both online and offline modes.
Will our copies be evaluated?
Copies will not be evaluated like MGP but will be graded. So you will receive a composite score out of 10 in each paper.
