from where to prepare science & tech?
1. if this is your first attempt then i think you should read class 8,9 and 10 NCERT
BOOKS(only Biology part). This will make your base.
2. After that, go through the CLASSNOTE of Science & Technology of ant reputed coaching
institutes (Classnote of Rahul Sir + Bindu Mam of Vajiram is good). Revise the calssnote
again and again.
3. Visit websites like ISRO and DRDO.(Make ur own notes from here)
4. Read monthly Current Affairs Magazine on S&T (no need to cover from newspaper)
5. Read Yearly PIB review of Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Science & Technology(will come in Jan 2018).
Do not bother abt makrs u r getting NOW . By Feb 2018 u will be able to tackle almost all questions of S&T. Best of Luck!!

Plzz guide me to start for upsc pre nd mains which books to use nd all
start by ncert’s from 6 to 12.
geog- 6 to 12 ncert (9 in no.)
environment- class 12 biology (last unit)
economics- class 10 ncert, class 12 macro economics
modern indian history- ncert by bipan chandra, spectrum (both are important)
ancient history- class 11 ncert by r s sharma
medival history- class 11 ncert by satish chandra
science- not specific, it depends, but still go through ncerts of 6 to 10th
polity- ncert indian constitution at work ; indian polity by laxmikanth
art and culture- ncert class 11 i.e fine arts, nitin singhania notes
newspaper- the hindu/ the indian express (any 1 will do)
current- vision ias monthly magazine
any one good test series will suffice like vision ias, insights
some other mandatory references are also there. but have command on these first. you cannot servive without these basics. try to complete in 4-5 months. enjoy
