oceanic crust is younger than continental crust because oceanic crust undergoes SUBDUCTION because of their higher density than continental crust. Oceanic crust is made up of ferro magnesia(basaltic – coz mid oceanic ridges vomiting magma ) whereas continental crust is madeof feldspar ( potassium, calcium and sodium – aluminosilicates)..hence granitic. continental crust is more thicker bcoz they didnt go for subduction under upper mantle.
