Sir, pardoning power is absolute or not, Shouldn’t we judge it on basis of applicability of judicial review ?

The exercise of power of pardon is not subject to judicial review except where the Presidential decision is arbitrary, irrational, mala fide or discriminatory

I too think ABSOLUTE power of pardoning means no check (judicial review) applicable on it
If it is not bound by advice of CoM – then it should be discretionary !!!
ABSOLUTE and DISCRETIONARY are different terms .
But as the exercise of power of pardon is subject to judicial review where the Presidential decision is arbitrary, irrational, mala fide or discriminatory – it is not ABSOLUTE

Kindly read the options and explanation again.
Statement 1 is incorrect: The chief election commissioner or an election commissioner shall hold office for a term of 5 years or age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
Statement 2 is correct.
So, answer is b.

So, it is 6 years, and not 5.

. As per Article 114 of the constitution of India, no amount can be withdrawn from the consolidated fund of India without authorisation from the parliament of India or legislature of the states.
It is wrong since Art114 doesn’t talk about legislature of states

Article 114 does not talk about the State legislature(s) rather CFI is under the authority of Parliament and it would be more difficult to appropriate funds if the state legislatures are involved that’s why it comes under the authority of the Parliament.

” When a government presents Vote on Account as a part of its Budget exercise; two appropriation bills viz. Appropriation (Vote on Account) Bill and Appropriation Bill of that year are passed””

This line is taken form the link you have shared….

It says When the govt. presents VoA as apart of…….

My doubt # is there an option for govt. for govt. for not presening VoA as an appropriation bill??

I am getting confused ue to grammar.!:P
