Good score. But pl explain if your 1 question is correct. How trade wind die out statement is correct.

Nimesh Nair
Nimesh Nair

Reply to  maheep 2006

In normal conditions, when El Niño does not occur, strong trade winds blow from east to west across the Pacific Ocean around the equator. The winds push warm surface ocean water from South America west towards Asia and Australia, and cold water wells up from below in the east to take its place along South America. This creates a temperature disparity across the Pacific, which also keeps the trade winds blowing. The accumulation of warm water in the west adds heat to the air, causing it to rise and create unstable weather, which is why the western Pacific region is warm and rainy. Cool, drier air is usually found on the eastern side of the Pacific.
In an El Niño year, the trade winds break down. The warm water that is normally pushed towards the western Pacific washes back across, piling up on the east side of the Pacific from California to Chile, causing rain and storms.

In short, the temperature disparity that exists during normal conditions is absent during the El Nino which weakens the trade winds

Your explaination is rights but how we can say that weakens the trade winds can say that die out.

Quality of your question- 50% as compared to the UPSC standard.
Suggestion from my side as I have talked from the examiners of UPSC. They were JNU and DU professors.
1. Try to frame those questions in which the candidate has to think.
For example: 1. What would happen if the Pacific ocean gets unusually warmer on the West of our country and high pressure area develops on our side?
a) It would lead to more Rainfall in India.
b) It would reduce the rainfall due to El Nino in India
c) It would reduce the rainfall due to El Nina in India.
d) Indian Ocean dipole would shift from Southern hemisphere to northern hemisphere.

2. Try to frame 10 question everyday (3 analytical questions and 3 current development on the subject and 4 conceptual questions.
3. Do crosscheck the explanation you give.
4. Also mention the source from where you are posting the explanation.
5. If possible do post pictures in explanation.

Incorporate the above suggestions and see the results.

Very good. Today upsc questions asking pattern is shifting towards three poles 1) analytical as you mentioned 2) total factual but related with current affairs and government scheme 3) not known to any candidate and coaching institute that’s check your courageous aspects because all of us know the 50% portion of the question but have no dares to attempt the question and final result is failure in preliminary (pure sal kathore mehnet karne k vavjood).
