• Birth and Domicile: Divyank Gupta was born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, into a middle class family. His roots in Kanpur shaped his grounded and determined personality, driving him to strive for excellence while staying connected to his origins.

• Family Background: His father, Shri Dinesh Chandra Gupta, is a self-employed, and his mother, Shashi Gupta, works in retail sales. Their hard work and values instilled in him discipline and perseverance- qualities that later defined his UPSC journey. These qualities have helped him to stay focused and keep striving towards his goal of achieving success in much coveted civil services examination. 

• Educational background: Divyank’s academic journey has been stellar and he has maintained this continuity of impeccable performance. He secured a perfect 10 CGPA in his class 10th from Shree Sanatan Dharma Education Centre in 2014. He secured 88.2% in his class 12th and while he was doing his preparation for JEE examination. He got admission in prestigious IIT Kanpur and graduated with 7.9 CGPA in 2020. 

• Previous Work Experience: Divyank decided to give his full time and dedication to UPSC CSE preparation after college. His decision has ultimately helped him in securing the ultimate rank which got him his dream job. 

• UPSC Preparation Strategy: Divyank chose mathematics as his optional subject, leveraging his strong analytical skills. He balanced self-study with test series, focusing on answer writing and current affairs. He has relied heavily on UPSC previous year question analysis for both prelims as well mains preparation. This has bore him ultimate fruit of getting him into Indian Administrative service.
