    1. Your knowledge is just outstanding and the way you have written essey is great..wish uh all the best !!

          1. sir, I have two ques:
            1. My word limit is mostly in 900 words.. will this be a problem?
            2. there is always some dimension left while writing, How to rectify it?

    2. It was a very good essay , but I would suggest you could also write initiatives taken by our government , in this field , it would add more value ?

    3. Good essay, covered various facets.
      Suggestion:
      1. I think Technological innovation is different from IP. Not every innovation qualifies as an IP. ex: Japnese scientist point
      2. Similarly waste recycling may be good for environment but some tech with IP could have given it more weight.

      Thanks ! Please review mine

      1. Well i think technolological innovation is IP.. Thats why people get IPR for their innovations..
Not every innovation qualifies fr Intellectual Property ‘Right’ but it can be an IP.. The difference is anything new out of creativity is IP but will someone get a monopoly for selling that product depends on world laws which are defined into IPR

    4. Hi Raashi , Overall Good Essay , But few crucial points which can be mentioned to make it more holistic::

      1. Give international examples How IP and Economic development are correlated :: Such as US, JAPAN ,CHINA etc are one of the biggest IP right holders & Big economic power at the same time which suggests a strong relation between both.
      2. India’s recently passed NATIONAL IPR POLICY which is in perfect tune to WTO TRIPS .
      3. Role of WTO TRIPS law needs a mention
      4. How India lag behind in IP and recent steps:: Poor funding , Lack of Laborateries , Brain Drain etc and then measures like i3 , Separate department to enhance focus CIPAM , etc

      4. Disadvantages :: IPR talks in multilateral trade talks such as “TPP” & RCEP which going one step ahead with TRIPS+ measure ..

      5. Talk about “DATA EXCLUSIVITY” etc which can pose a challenge to Generic medicines industry and health effects on poor.
      6. How only few Corporates have monopoly over IPR rights eg. MONSANTO in GM crops case and diversification is the need of the hour…

Overall nice effort… Please let me know if you have any concerns above the points i have mentioned or i deviated from the need of the essay… Suggestions are welcome…

    5. plz help raashi…..

        3. I switched my newspaper from Hindu to Indian Express coz i couldn’t retain Hindu.. though some articles IE might not cover.. but if u regularly follow forumIAs or any other portal, u will get to know the topics not covered.. I downloaded KNAPPILY app too which helped me keep track of not missing any news.. i will suggest dont skip newspaper reading, it will improve ur english too
        4. After prelims, I studied for Mains.. that included optional, world history, security etc and also wrote a lot of answers.. thats the reason im not struggling today
        5. i made 3 registers for GS-1, 2, and 3 respectively and wrote down relevant news which is helping me today.. i didnt make notes for factual things
        6. for Current affair, read vision’s Current affairs.. u can also go for GK today.. n did insights quiz monthly compilation (Started all this in Jan)
        7. till dec, i focussed mains only subjects.. from Jan i strictly went for prelims study.. read almost ALL Ncerts from 6th to 12th with notes making and revision.. and got hold of ncert tests from 2 institutes and did them simultaneously
        8. Ans writing skill will improve gradually.. watch Newyan’s video on forumIAs
in my view, no compilation works.. it is only supplement for newspaper

      1. Sorry bro , i am not competent enough to review philosophical essays till now and try to refrain myself from such topics…

    1. Nice examples.
Can make it more diverse: International: P5 paralysis – No discipline so poor accomplishments despite strong UN charter. Economy: Planning model helped in accomplishments…

    1. 1. Present your knowledge in a way that it makes the examiner feel that he should read it.. like a story which goes in a flow
      2. focus on topic.. understand its demand.. You have majorly focussed on explaining what is IP, types of it.. good for an assignment but not for this topic.. here, the topic’s keyword was “KEY” which means IP is necessity for economic development.. so keep relating to topic in every other para.. it gives the examiner feel ohh he has not diverted
      3. work on indentation, line spacing.. because aesthetics matter

Sorry for late review.. i could not read it on phone, so delayed
      Keep writing.. Progress comes gradually
      🙂

  1. We all have some goals to achieve at any phase of life. They
might be short term or long term in any field. They
might be personal or professional. To meet thsese goals we have to do some
actions or put some efforts in a consistent way.We may encounter any hurdels or
distrubances at any stage of achiveing the goals, but we need keep always ourselves
    to align with our goals.

So the key to meet the set targets is consistent efforts in
the right direction. This highlights the need of self discipline in our life so
that we do not divert our enregy in unproductive things which compromises our
    goals.

We divide the main goal into small sub goals or milestones,
then we work towards these milestones one by one. This is where our discipline
helps to complete these milestones. This way we reach to our end goal by
completeing these sub goals by keeping ourselves discilpined in entire
journey. This way we can say that discipline acts as a vital bridge to goal and
    accomplishment.

Why this is vital in whole jouney because if we compromise
on discipline then there are chances that we may break the chain of the goals
which will ultimately lead to failure on accomplishment. This compromise may be
due to our negligence or due to some external hurdels.

    The chances of
overcoming these hurdels or ignorance depends on our strong will, determination
and commitment to our end goal. All these makes us more self disiciplined and
brings us near to the goal.

The good example can be our freedom struggle against mighty
British power but our freedom fighters showed very high degree of strong will
and determination to free our nation from ruthless enemy. To achieve freedom
they faced many hardships, personal sacrifices ,jail terms and even many thousands
of fighters gave their life.In this journey they sometime got disappointed but
never ever bow down against the enemy.

Gandhiji showed us that by keeping our self disciplined, commited and making
    regular efforts through continuous
movements one after one how a impossible
    goal can be achieved.

    Our former persident
Dr A.P.J Kalam and Sachin Tendulakar achieved great sucesses through self
discipline. On the other hand due to lack of discipline in the monks the great
Bhuddism declined.Similar case is of mighty mughal empire due to careless
    rulers.

    Importance of
discipline in life: Be it personal life or professional we need to show
some minium discipline to live and work in harmony with other members. If it
lacks in personal life than we will not be able to concentrate on work hence
there is linkage of discipline between two.So we need to maintan a balance in
    both spheres.

    Sources of discipline:Every
field requires some different discipline in the form of code of
    conduct,rules,custmos,process,laws,conventions.These are learned from external
    environmnets ,history,life of great people,society,family members,school teachers,organizaion
leaders, army tranings .These institutions infuse the sense of responsibilty
towards our and others life. Here where we learn what is wrong and right which
affects our behaviour and actions we take in our life.So discipline in the form
of code of conduct influences our actions on which our set goals depends. This
way discipline acts as a bridge which connects our goals and acoomplishment.Even
a talented singer keeps practsing to achieve his or her goals.

    Roadblocks in self
discipline:As we seen that discipline is necessary to be successful. But in
reality we encounter unseen events which may distract our concentartion from
our goal. These disturbances can be any life stressful life
event, greed, compromise on integrity ,being part of wrong company, bad life
styles and habits. The person who is not knowledgeble, who is ignorant, careless,
and fearful gets trapped by above evils. On the other hand informed ,strong and
fearless person don’t become the pray of these evils and continuosly makes
progress by not compromising his discipline and gets his or her targeted goals.

In the present materialistic life people do choose shortcut
by compromising ethics and code of conduct to become successful quickly. The
famous case of Harshad Mehta but this type of practise takes no where and
harmful both individual and society. So ethics ,integrity ,love, compassion, code
of conduct ,society’s good customs makes a good disciplined person, which bears
    the fruits in long run.

    Role of discipline in
nation building and public life:we as human being wants good life and
happiness but this can only be ensured when there is minium discipline among
citizens , public officers, corporates, buisness men and there is respect to law
of land, respect to weaker scetions like women, children, old persons, downtrodden
poor peoples. If we don’t maintain discipline in public life then we can not
expect the same from others. This will lead to tension in the society which is detrimental
for a nation which wants to be strong ,devloped, self sufficent and to meet the
aispiration of her citizens.one the other hand a self disciplined and civilized
nation will be able to meet the needs of her nations.

Recently it is obeserved that India is facing moral crisis
and there is large scale of value degradtion which can be seen in daily news in
    the form of corruption,violence,rape,child abuse,stranded senior citizens,drug
trafficking ,tax evasion, broken families, increasing inequality and increasing early
    divorces.

So as whole nation we are not on right track to become
civilized nation. This has to be corrected through self inspection, enforcement
of laws, self discipline and learning from our great golden past.We need to
bring values in public life and in individuals. These values will create
ecosystem for self disciplined nation where we will not require much laws and
which will act as a bridge to meet the individual goals. This can be achieved
only when everbody undersantds the issues of other peoples, through awareness
and through a strong will to restore the
values. There is great saying that we should strive for common good which will
    ultimately lead to individuals good.

  2. Topic: Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.

There has been no dearth of amazing ideas, meticulous plans and lofty goals. Thanks to imaginations of human mind. However, problem is rarity in implementation, execution and accomplishment. Gap in goals and accomplishment has been age old problem that affects human lives from personal levels to national level.
Reason for the above problem is no more a mystery and more or less everyone knows it. The bridge between goals and accomplishment is discipline. It is absence of this bridge of discipline which is the main reason for the problem.
Discipline refers to strict adherence to means or actions required to accomplish a goal and control of senses from getting distracted.Discipline along with honesty, integrity, hard work and perseverance is an essential quality for a person to succeed in life.

    How Discipline is a bridge
Human mind is restless. It is natural for mind to wander and lose focus. We tend to lose interest quickly. One of the reason for this is aversion for monotonicity. Thus, even after we have set a brilliant goal and made a perfect plan we tend to leave the goal mid way. Thus, accomplishment become elusive.
We can understand this with an example.India’s independence had been most cherished goal for freedom fighters. However, accomplishment of freedom was always hard and it took many decades. Many movements like home rule, non-cooperation,civil disobedience movement were not able to achieve the goal of independence. They gained momentum and faded out. The reason for this is that people will and actions were due to enthusiasm which faded out without accomplishing goal.
However, if discipline is incorporated in our behaviour then we are able to defeat these weak tendencies of mind of losing focus and getting distracted.Mahatma Gandhi and Congress Working Committee(CWC) worked even though mass movement was absent. There continuous work to reach grass root level, reinforcing organisation and provide effective leadership which provided the discipline which freedom struggle needed. This resulted ultimately in freedom.
Thus, it can be seen that even though goal existed but without disciplined effort mass movement faded without accomplishing goal. However, it was discipline of Mahatma gandhi and some other leaders along with incessant effort of CWC which resulted in accomplishment of goal.

    Applications
The significance of discipline is well known and has been revered in society as a great value. Discipline witness application in every sphere and field of life from grass root to higher levels.
Military is best example where strict discipline is followed.Discipline in an army is seen as an essential attribute to win wars.Discipline is incorporated in military men through training, while on job and even during manoeuvres during war. Adolf Hitler’s army was known for its discipline. Everybody knows how his army had shaken whole world.
Discipline is incorporated in us while we are in schools through morning prayers, regular classroom, attendance, daily homeworks,in class behaviours, etc. Discipline can be witnessed in bureaucracy too where hierarchy is maintained, responsibility and authority is established and each segment of administration works continuously and in harmony to achieve the ultimate goal of administration.
Civil services examination one of the toughest exam in india presents us with perfect example of true application of discipline. It’s a examination which can’t be cleared through overnight or few week studies. It requires a year long effort to achieve success. Toppers through interview talk about discipline as the central quality which helped them to succeed.Discipline is in putting efforts everyday, following plan and doing things repeatedly again and again

    Present status
As human race is progressing in its materialistic pursuits, it has witnessed significant deterioration in values and ideals. Discipline seems to meet the same fate.
Human mind has become short tempered, more restless and unable to pursue longer goals through disciplined effort.Lots of distraction has left a person without an ability to focus.Social media, pub culture, excess liberty and lack of accountabilty due to neuclear family has left present generation undisciplined when it comes to working towards a greater goal.
Lack of discipline is visible in government organisations where corrupltion, laziness and casual approach has resulted in non accoplishments of goal. Even private players are usin wrong means to achieve goal.
At personal level too lack of discipline leads to failures and which leads to anger, radicalisation and negativity. Most of the social tensions rise from these psychologcal states at personal level which leads to hatred, conflicts and discrimination.
Thus, discipline is not only bridge bewteen goal and accomplishment but also between social aspirations and prosperity.

    How to reinforce bridge?
There is great need for modern generation to understand the importance of discipline. This is how they can enjoy the modern life in true sense.
Govenment must ensure that children inculcate the habit of discipline from school days by instructing school management in designing school procedures, introducing courses in curriculum, promoting stories of great personality who have been edifice of discipline.
Discipline must be introduced in citizens too.Fundamental duties incoporated in our constitution is an example. But, more initiatives is needed to be take. For exam swach bharat abhiyan can become reality if citizen become disciplined in terms of waste disposal, sanitation, hygiene and participating in cleanliness drive.

    Conclusion
Discipline being important to achieve goal, has been part of our culture as most cherised value. Discipline apart from utilitarian in nature has much more deeper and spiritual roots. Gautama Buddha’s after enlightment came to conclusion that if human suffering is to end then eith fold path prescribed by him has to be followed. Following these eight noble path requires highest form of discipline that a person can think of.Thus, discipline is not utilitarian approach to reach goal but, is panacea for all the human suffering.

  3. Intellectual property is a key aspect for economic development

Every nation aims happiness, prosperity and security of her citizens. To achieve
this it is necessary for the nation that resources whether natural or human are
employed in best productive manner. This is where economic development plays
important and crucial role in improving the living standard and per capita
income of the citizens. For sustained economic growth and development it becomes
imperative for planners to create more avenues and scope for economic
    activities on sustained basis.

This requires the investment and capital formation which in turn will create
more jobs and employment but investment in economy requires the security of
capital and return on investment.Today most of the economies have become open
and integrated which requires healthy competition among investors and
companies. To make healthy competition and continuous investment it becomes
necessary for a country to protect the assets of the individual or companies
from misuse by others by providing suitable laws and regulations. This can be
assured through issuing intellectual property rights to the owners of the
assets. These can be in any form like IPR,copy writes, trademarks, process, design
    and geographical indicators.

These rights motivates the investors and owners to invest in new economic
activity. The strong Intellectual property rights regime ensures confidence in
the economy and its polices and attracts investment from within the country or
from global players. So for a sustained growth these rights work as key enablers
for business activity, goods and services production.

Although it is not necessary for country to issue property rights for economic
development to take place in a closed economy where the assets of the country
are owned by people collectively. In historical past also there were no laws for
intellectual rights but even economic activities, prosperity took place.

Since today, the communications and interactions become very fast and through
modern infrastructures and technologies the knowledge transfer became a task of
seconds. This knowledge is nothing but a creation of mind ,hard work and
investment of both time and money of individuals ,groups and organizations. To
motivate them for further creation of new ideas it is necessary that their
interest are protected in a best way. These new ideas are nothing but
    innovations in process,design,tools,science,technologies,social sciences which
helps further creation of intellectuals and knowledge economy. The knowledge economy
helps in high earnings of citizens and hence better living standards.

So in a way these rights propels intellectuals to put their mind, learning, capacity to best use and come out with new innovations or ideas to solve socio-economic problems of the country and the world. At the international level World trade organization is apex body to set the standards,to maintain and address the dispute among the member countries. The individual country is free to enact laws on these rights based on the framework provided by WTO.The agreement related to intellectual property rights is legal agreement between members of WTO.It is important to notice that the country which has robust IPR regime along with political stability, high skilled work force and sound economic policies will attract more investment in quality research and development. The agreement also provides the flexibility for underdeveloped and developing countries to dilute the property rights in case of emergency situation like epidemics.

India has recently taken steps to strengthen the IPR regime and create an
ecosystem for business opportunities while keeping in mind the interest of
intellectual property owners. These steps includes speedy and cost effective
dispute resolution system backed by Indian courts. This ecosystem will help
startup companies and entrepreneurs to flourish in the country which will lead
to job creation and hence prosperity among citizens.

In this direction government of India enacted laws for each type of property
    rights,example Trademarks act,Patent act,Information Technology Act etc.

India has also taken steps to document her vast traditional knowledge into
digital library which will help to safeguard the assets and patents against the
claims of other nations. For example Indian fought successfully in WTO for
turmeric usages which is part of traditional knowledge we acquired.

Geographical indicators act has been enacted to protect the
products, arts, processes which are native to only a particular geographical
area. This will help in economic development and betterment of the local
    people.For example Vanspati rice,Banarasi sari,Madhubani paintings.Warli
painting in Maharashtra benefiting the local tribe people by selling these
paintings.Hence the IPR regime also takes care of inclusive development.

India was first country to sign the Marrakesh treaty to protect the patents
created by blindly handicapped creators.normally according to TRIPS agreement
the private right on the original creator expires in 20years,after that they
are thrown open to public use.The Indian IPR regime also provides the provision
for granting compulsory license before 20 years to third party in the interest
of larger public good if situation demands which is in line with TRIPS
protocol. So the IPR regime maintains balance between public and private
rights. For example NATCO has been given compulsory license to produce cheap
generic copy of nexaware medicine which is owned by US firm. This is in right
direction to create healthy intellectual citizens who will contribute to
    economic development.
Since the IPR regime alone can not guarantee the economic development hence government has taken
many initiatives like Make in India,Startup India,Skill India, digital economy and industrialization to boost the growth of the nation and job creation.

Although India is among top 15 countries in filing the patents but none of her higher institution or university comes in top 200 list. This highlights the lacuna in the higher education, research and development. This needs to be corrected by creating quality infrastructure and collaboration with top foreign universities. The favorable ecosystem for research needs to be developed.

India is home to more than 1.2 billion population and has potential to become the knowledge based economy which will lead to high earnings and savings. These savings further can be used for more asset creation and investment and job creation.India has to create high skilled work force and need to work towards cutting edge technologies and research transfer to India from developed world.
