Is there no difference in between the age bar for the marriage of girl and a boy in the Native marriage act 1872 and Sharda Act 1929. The ias baba 60 day program explaination shows that both consider 14 yr and 18 yr as minimum age for marriage. But, long ago I found an article where I saw that age was kept low initially like 12 yrs for girl by Akbar and later on it went on increasing. I am not finding suitable links on Google search. If you are aware, plz explain with the suitable source.
As per my finding both the Acts prescribed the age bar of 14 & 18 for girls and boys respectively. I have attached the screenshots so you can refer.
Akbar kept the age bar of 14 & 16 though I couldn’t find any valid evidence for that.

Lot of thanks Mausumi, you explained it in a very good way. One of my frnd, from whom I asked, has also mentioned the same thing with one difference. According to him, native marriage act was applicable only to Christians, while the age bar is same in both Sharda act and Native marriage act.
I might have missed that fact. Thanks a lot.
