News: The Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, unveiled the logo and key initiatives for the India-AI Impact Summit 2026. The summit will be held on February 19-20, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
About India-AI Impact Summit 2026

- It will be hosted in New Delhi at Bharat Mandapam on February 19-20, 2026.
- Organized by: Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under the IndiaAI Mission.
- It is the first of its kind to be hosted by a Global South nation.
- Aim: It aims to shift the global AI discourse from mere governance and safety to measurable impact, especially for the Global South.
- Guiding principles: It is guided by three principles, or Sutras like People, Planet, and Progress.
- Themes: Discussions at the summit will revolve around seven thematic Chakras like Human Capital, Inclusion, Safe & Trusted AI, Resilience, Science, Democratizing AI Resources, and Social Good.
- Logo Significance: The Ashoka Chakra-based logo symbolizes ethical governance and AI’s transformative reach across languages and industries.
- Benefits: Boosts AI innovation and skill development for students.
- Challenges: Requires sustained funding and infrastructure growth.

| Foundational Model Projects | Eight indigenous AI models have been launched to build multilingual, healthcare, scientific, industrial, governance, and agriculture AI capabilities. These include projects like | Avatar AI for Indian languages, IIT Bombay Consortium – Bharat Gen for open-source multimodal models, and Intellihealth for neurological disorder screening. |
| IndiaAI Data and AI Labs | 30 labs have been launched as the first step toward a network of 570 labs across India. These labs will offer foundational AI and data training courses. | |
