- India’s Spending Level: India’s military expenditure reached $92.1 billion, marking an 8.9% increase over the previous year.
- Global Ranking: India became the fifth-largest military spender, after the USA, China, Russia, and Germany.
- Regional Trends: China increased spending by 7.4% to $336 billion, while Pakistan increased by 11% to $11.9 billion.
- Global Spending Pattern: Total global military expenditure reached $2,887 billion, with the top three countries contributing 51%.
- European Contribution: Europe recorded a 14% rise, reaching $864 billion, driven by war and NATO rearmament efforts.
- Arms Import Trends: India’s arms imports declined by 4%, yet it remained the second-largest importer with 8.2% share.
