News: The Ministry of Jal Shakti has announced the Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari (JSJB) Awards 2025 for outstanding performers under the Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain campaign.

About Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari (JSJB) Awards 2025

These Awards are given for outstanding performers under the Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari 1.0 (JSJB) initiative, a flagship community-driven program under the Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain (JSA: CTR) campaign.
2025 Edition: The 2025 edition of JSJB Awards are the inaugural one to be given away.
Organised by: Ministry of Jal Shakti
Conferred by: The awards will be conferred by the President of India.
Purpose: The Government is incentivizing the awardees for exceptional progress in the construction, rejuvenation, and maintenance of artificial groundwater recharge structures such as borewell recharge systems and rooftop rainwater harvesting units.
Awards to be conferred
- 100 awards have been announced for various categories.
- These include 3 top-performing states, 67 Districts, 6 municipal corporations, 1 urban local body (ULB), 2 partner ministries/Departments, 2 industries, 3 NGOs, 2 philanthropists, and 14 nodal officers
Prize money/incentives
- Top-performing districts in Category 1 receive ₹2 crore each.
- Category 2 districts receive ₹1 crore each.
- Category 3 districts receive ₹25 lakh each.
- All awardees also receive a citation.
Category-wise Winners of JSJB Awards 2025
- Best performing State/Union territory: Telangana (first), Chhattisgarh (second), and Rajasthan (third).
- Top 3 municipal corporations
  - 1st: Raipur Municipal Corporation (Chhattisgarh).
  - 2nd: Hyderabad (HMWSSB responsible within Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area), Telangana.
  - 3rd: Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation (Uttar Pradesh).
- Best ULBs: Guna, Madhya Pradesh.
- Best NGO: Jaltara Save Groundwater, GirGanga Parivar, and the Art of Living.
- Best Industry Associations / Best Industry Leaders: FICCI Water Mission and ASSOCHAM.
