- Location: Cyprus is an island nation in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, located about 65 km south of Turkey and 100 km west of Syria.
- It is the third-largest island in the Mediterranean, after Sicily and Sardinia, with a total area of 9,251 sq. km.
- Capital: The capital of Cyprus is Nicosia, which is also the only divided capital city in the world.
- Terrain: The terrain includes the Kyrenia Mountains in the north, the Troodos Mountains in the south, and the Mesaoria Plain in between.
- Highest point: Mount Olympus (Troodos), at 1,951 m, is the highest point on the island.
