  • Location: Kuwait is a country in Western Asia.
    • It is situated in the northern edge of Eastern Arabia at the tip of the Persian Gulf.
  • Boundaries: It shares borders with Iraq, the Persian Gulf and Saudi Arabia.
  • Capital: Kuwait City
  • Key Features:
    • Islands: It has several islands like Al-Warbah, Bubiyan, and Failakah Islands.
    • Escarpment: The Al-Zawr Escarpment borders the northwestern shore of Kuwait Bay.
    • Bay: Kuwait Bay is a deep harbour on the Persian Gulf.
      • It covers nearly 50% of the country’s shoreline and shelters the port of Kuwait.
    • Desert: Most parts of Kuwait are covered by the Arabian Desert. It is an entirely flat and dry barren desert of sandy plains broken by occasional shallow depressions and low hills.
      • The land (desert) begins to rise slightly in the southwest, along the border with Saudi Arabia.
    • Marshland: In coastal areas, large patches of salty marshland have developed.
    • Desert basins: Throughout the northern, western, and central sections of Kuwait, there are desert basins, which fill with water after winter rains.
    • Lakes and rivers: There are no perennial lakes or rivers. Instead, there are wadis or transient watercourses that end in inland basins.
  • Highest Point: The country’s highest point is an unnamed hill that peaks at 1,003 ft. (306 m).
  • Major ports: The three main ports in Kuwait are Shuwaikh port, Doha port and Shuaiba port.
