Rather than referring to multiple sources for preparation, one should study from a single source and revise it multiple times, suggests Lakshay Singhal who got a rank of 38 in this year’s Civil Services Examination. And a major reason why students perform poorly in Prelims is due to lack of direction.

He was enrolled in ForumIAS’s Essay Classroom Program and IGP (Interview Guidance Program). He was also a member of ForumIAS discussion portal and Blog.

This was his 2nd attempt in the exam. He had reached till the interview round in 2017, but couldn’t make it in the final list.

In the below video, he talks about his ideal strategy for clearing Prelims and the dos and donts for the preparation.

For the interview, he focussed on preparing each and every word from DAF (Detailed Application Form). Along with this, he used to give weekly mocks and work on the feedback provided for them.
