IT industry body National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) is working closely with the U.S. government to allow level playing field for the Indian firms.It said that Indian IT companies take less than 12% of the 65,000 H-1B visas.More than 70% of the visas are given to Indians, but not to Indian IT firms.
  2. The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to employ foreign workers in occupations that require theoretical or technical expertise.While, Green Card is an identification card which gives one the status of a permanent resident along with legal rights to work in USA.
  3. The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) is a trade association of Indian Information Technology (IT) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry. Established in 1988, NASSCOM is a non-profit organisation.
