Biography

• Birth and Domicile: Neelesh Goyal was born in Karauli inRajasthan, a small town known for its rich cultural heritage. His roots in Rajasthan played a significant role in shaping his disciplined and resilient personality. 

• Family Background: Neelesh comes from a middle class family. His father, Shri. Ved Prakash Goyal, is a businessman, while his mother, Smt. Manju Goyal, is a homemaker. Their unwavering support and values of hard work greatly influenced his journey. 

• Educational Background: Neelesh excelled academically, he scored 90.83% in class 10th from Eshav Vidya Mandir in 2012. He scored 89.20% in class 12th and went to MB Public School, 2014. He has done his B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) with 7.57 CGPA (MNIT Jaipur in 2018).

• Previous work experience: Before UPSC, he worked as an Engineer at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). Balancing a demanding job with UPSC preparation showcased his time management skills.

• UPSC preparation journey: Neelesh cleared UPSC CSE 2024 in his second attempt (AIR 77). His strategy included choosing sociology as his optional subject, writing answers on a regular basis and revising consistently. Integrating job knowledge with current affairs has been another area which has helped in his overall preparation.

He has played Kho Kho at the state level, demonstrating teamwork. He has been student Coordinator, ISKON Committee, reflecting leadership. Interest in yoga, renewable energy, and diary writing kept him balanced.
