The Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) has received a production clearance from the Indian Army and the Defence Ministry for production of 114 ‘Dhanush’ artillery guns.
Dhanush is an upgraded version of the Swedish Bofors gun procured by India in the mid-1980s.
Dhanush is the first range artillery gun to be produced in India.It has a strike range of 40km with accuracy and precision.It also has night firing capability in direct fire mode.
