News: As part of the PMAY-U Awards 2026, Best Performing States/UTs under PMAY-U and PMAY-U 2.0 were felicitated during the celebration event of World Habitat Day 2026.
About PMAY-U Awards 2026
- The PMAY-U Awards are national honors to honor best-performing states, Union Territories (UTs), and urban local bodies (ULBs) in implementing Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Urban (PMAY-U) and PMAY-U 2.0.
- Objective: It is to recognise innovation, encourage healthy competition, promote best practices and inspire stakeholders to strengthen the delivery of affordable and quality housing across the country.
- Instituted by: It has been instituted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).
- Frequency: It will be held annually on World Habitat Day.
- PMAY-U Award Categories: Recently, PMAY-U Awards 2026 were announced on the occasion of World Habitat Day in various categories are as follow:
