  1. Russia has pledged support for Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s government while the U.S. has announced sanctions against Venuzuela.
  2. Venezuela which is already facing economic crisis went into the political crisis when opposition leader Juan Guaido declared himself interim president and asserted that Maduro was no longer legitimate President of Venuzuela.
  3. Nicolas Maduro and his allies,including Russia have accused US of attempting to carry out a coup against Venuzuela government.The United States has recognised Guaido and led a diplomatic campaign in support of his leadership.
  4. India has refused to go along with the US and said that it is for the people of Venezuela to find political solutions to resolve their differences through constructive dialogue and discussion without resorting to violence.
