- The Ministry of Jal Shakti, in association with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has invited applications for Swachh Bharat Summer Internship 2019. Applications have been called from members of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NUKS), National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet Corps (NCC).
- The internship programme aims to strengthen the people’s movement (Jan andolan) aspect of Swachh Bharat Mission. It seeks to engage educated youth in cleanliness drive, develop their skill and orientation for sanitation related work and amplify mass awareness on cleanliness.
- Under the terms of the Internship, candidates would be required to undertake 50 hours of internship activities. The activities include a) education and communication activities such as awareness programmes, b) Solid Waste Management related activities such as clean-up drives and activities like waste collection, segregation, developing compost pits and c) creation of sanitation infrastructure, system building.
- At the conclusion of the internship, the best interns would be identified at district, state and national levels and will be given cash awards. Every intern who completes the internship program will a certificate of the internship by the Swachh Bharat Mission.
