UPSC announced the final result of Civil services exam 2019 in the month of August 2020. A total of 829 candidates recommended for the civil services including IAS, IPS, IFS, and various Group A and B services, against 927 vacancies released by UPSC.
Out of more than 5 lakh candidates, UPSC selects less than 1000 candidates every year. Vacancies are also getting reduced every year with an exception of 2019, where 927 vacancies were released.
Why mark sheets are important?
Marksheets provide candidates not able to clear the exam or candidates looking to improve their ranking with an idea of, the areas/subjects need improvement and their strong areas/subjects. The focussed and planned study is best for further improvement.
As UPSC checking and number allocation methodology is not public, there is no clarity on the writing methods rewarded or penalised by the UPSC. All speculations and writing standards are based upon the writing methods adopted by the toppers of the exam.
