- According to the India Digital News Report, published by Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, 55% of sampled English Internet users in India are concerned that open political expression online could get them into trouble with the authorities.
- Respondents have low trust in news overall (36%), however; interestingly express higher levels of trust in news in search (45%) and social media (34%) than in other countries. Further, 57% are worried whether online news they come across is real or fake.
