Why in news?
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the “Viksit Bharat Initiative for Student Innovation and Outreach Network” (VISION) portal. It aimed at fostering education, skill development, and entrepreneurship among underprivileged students.
Key Features of the VISION Initiative

1. Online Training Modules: It is accessible courses for entrepreneurial and innovation skills.
2. Mentorship Programs: Guidance from industry leaders for aspiring innovators.
3. Scholarship Opportunities: It offers financial aid for students from underserved communities.
4. Incubation Support: Resources and support to transform ideas into viable businesses.
5. Democratizing Startup Opportunities: VISION seeks to bridge the gap for students in rural and underserved areas, offering them mentorship, training, and exposure to cutting-edge fields such as biotechnology, space technology, and agricultural innovation.
6. Creating an Inclusive Ecosystem: The initiative ensures access to the startup ecosystem for students in remote areas, fostering grassroots-level innovation.
7. Knowledge Revolution: Initiatives like VISION leverage technology to bridge urban-rural educational divides.
Future Goals: VISION aligns with Vision India 2047, which aims to position India as a global leader in technology, education, and economic development.
