News: The Department of Social Justice & Empowerment launched SETU on UMANG and removed the domicile certificate requirement for scholarship applications.
About SETU (Scholarship for Educational Transformation and Upliftment)

- SETU is a comprehensive digital platform on UMANG that provides scholarship-related services through a single interface.
- Developed By: It was developed by the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment (DoSJE).
- Aim: The platform aims to improve accessibility, streamline scholarship processes, strengthen digital governance, and ensure effective delivery of scholarship benefits.
- Key Features:
- Single Digital Gateway: It acts as a unified platform for One-Time Registration, application tracking, and validation of scholarship services.
- Multi-tiered Interface: The platform brings students, Institutional Nodal Officers, District Nodal Officers, and State officials onto a single dashboard for application verification.
- UMANG Integration: The platform is hosted directly on the UMANG platform to provide easy access to scholarship services.
- Direct Benefit Transfer: Financial assistance is transferred directly into students’ bank accounts in a transparent manner.
- Technology-Based Security: The platform uses modern authentication features, including face-recognition technology, to reduce fund leakage and administrative paperwork.
About UMANG ( Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance)
- Developed By: It was developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the National e-Governance Division (NeGD).
- Key Objective: It is a key e-governance initiative under the Digital India programme.
- Service Delivery: It provides citizens with a unified, multilingual platform for single-point access to hundreds of Central and State Government services.
