News: The Indian and US navies will conduct the Indian Navy–US Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Exercise 2026 from 10 to 14 August 2026.
About Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Exercise 2026

- Participant: It is a bilateral training exercise between the Indian Navy and US Navy.
- Held at: It will be conducted at the Southern Naval Command in Kochi, Kerala.
- Aim: The exercise aims to enhance interoperability, strengthen professional cooperation, promote collaborative learning and operational synergy, and improve the ability of both navies to respond to complex and evolving Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) challenges.
- Edition: The 2026 engagement is the eighth edition.
- The two navies have conducted joint Salvage and EOD exercises since 2005.
- Duration: The five-day exercise will be held from 10 to 14 August 2026.
- Key Aspects:
- Expert Exchange: Subject Matter Expert Exchanges will support sharing contemporary EOD methods, emerging technologies, and best practices.
- Practical Training: Cross-training, equipment demonstrations, and scenario-based practical exercises will provide practical learning.
- Operational Understanding: Personnel will gain insights into each other’s capabilities, operational concepts, and employment approaches.
